Terry Taphouse was born in Ogden, Utah and raised in Adrian, Michigan. He met and married Lois, his wife of 24 years, while they were both serving in the United States Air Force, and stationed in southern California. They and their four children, Stefanie, currently attending Clemson University, Greg, currently attending Morehead State University in Kentucky, Tracy, and Jenny moved from Columbus, Ohio to Dacula, Ga. in 1996.
Terry has been involved in youth ministry for 20 years, in various capacities. Before coming to Belmont, he served as the volunteer youth leader at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Buford. He has been the Minister of Students at Belmont Baptist Church since October, 2007.
Terry is currently a computer programmer for Emory Healthcare. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf & softball, following and supporting Stefanie as she competes with Clemson's Club Gymnastics team, Greg as he plays football for the MSU Eagles, Tracy and Jenny as they cheer for the Dacula Falcons, and hanging out with students. He and his family travel to Ohio and Michigan to visit family as often as they can.
Terry’s desire is to help students realize that they personally can make a difference in their world and to equip them to discover their God-given potential as they serve this church and this community through the Synergy Student ministry.
